I am having a private run at my family ranch up in North Texas the first weekend in August.  I had one a few months ago with the FWD-FWD guys and had a blast.  Grape Ape has been a couple of times and can tell you about it.

Just for a reference on where it is, its about 15 miles from the old Wheeling Ranch in Nocona, Texas.

Let me know if you want to go.

Chip

Hey Chip, post up a map quest map of how to get there for the undecided ones.

it's not far out of Montague.  You guys should come to the ranch instead ofGilmer...its cheaper, you can wheel after 10, and it is a lot more fun!!

Well Chip, intrigue me. Tell me more about your place, how many acres is it, big hill climbs, creek running, and so forth. The pictures do it some justice but convince me that it's better than Barnwell.

There's several from two forums going to Barnwell Mountain on the 2nd and 3rd.

1000 acres
A/C sleeping arrangements and showers
big shop

I have made about 5-6 hill climbs that will test your rig pretty good.  There are 2 creeks that run through the ranch which maybe fun because they are dry right now.  When wet, I got hung up in quicksand.

I will admit that Gilmer has a LOT more trails but I have just as much fun at the ranch.  We are also going to make some more trails (basically we follow the Grape Ape though the woods).

I am trying to leave at LEAST by then.  Wednesday, lets make plans on where we are going to meet up.  I have to get my Jeep up to Rikmil so he can load it on the gooseneck.  Roland, you still need my trailer?

Speaking of hubs....Roland better bring axle shafts!!!

I am asking everyone to bring what they want to drink.  I figure Friday and Saturday nights we will do a potluck type dinner.  Maybe hamburgers one night and something else saturday.  I am open to suggestions and there is a good groc store a few miles from the ranch.

Anyone have a trailer that I can get the grape ape on tomorrow or Wednesday that won't crush the fenders?   I need to get it to Texas Auto Gear for a few things and the Monkey has Eric's trailer tied up for the moment.

My trailer is ful of scrap......and an oval tire.  I don't think it will fit on Smokey's.
