So does this mean Purple Monkey can't run in 39.5 class anymore? Only 44 class says front fiberglass clips are ok....not 39.5 class. 39.5 class must have STOCK transmission. Purple Monkey's tranny can't hold up to that motor if it's stock! He also has no front windshield either. He should have to run in unlimited or 44". If he tries to run 35" class he doesn't have " factory axles, stock transmission, transfer case and not to exceed OEM cubic inches" .
Why did Lil Shiney get to race other months and not last? Why do most racers have 2min. to get to starting line but some have had 10 min?
I think EVERYONE should live by the SAME rules ALL THE TIME. Or make it "run what you brung" and have no rules. Not some run what you want while the rest have to live by rules. These "good ole boy rules " suck and making it alot of trouble and not as much fun. Just my .02
there is truth in this.
just an example, not picking on anyone but giving a example.
from what i know:
Erics truck has a ford transmission in it, so its technically stock. its a C6 IIRC, not a lenco or something like that, and its a FoMoCo designed unit.... granted it may have a metric shit ton of aftermarket parts in it, but its still a C6 case
factory axles..... it is a ford dana 60.... not that they ever came under a F100 or F150 or most F250's butits still a FoMoCo axle.
i dunno what the transfercase is, im assuming a NP205 or dana 300 but i could be mistaken. those are both FoMoCo pieces. i have one as well infact (205)
the engine IIRC was/is a 460? thats a FoMoCo engine as well, may have not been in a f150 or f100 but it still is a FoMoCo block
look at my engine, its a 409 using a 351M block and all stock ford parts.... does that make me no good for competition? what that rule means, is no aftermarket blocks in my interpretation. so no Dart, Donivan, or Merlin blocks that change the bore spacing and allow longer stroke. i mean i can make a small block chevy with a dart block look like a stock engine... but it can be well over 450 CID.
